Biographies
Donellen G. Cornelius, CPA/PFS, CFP
Ms. Cornelius
is a founding director of Cornelius, Stegent & Price, LLP, a full
service Houston area public accounting and consulting firm established
in January 2000.
She began
her career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1977
and more recently served as Audit Partner with another Houston regional
public accounting firm. She is a Certified Public Accountant with the
Personal Financial Specialist designation in both Texas and Colorado,
and is licensed as a Certified Financial Planner.
Her audit
practice is dedicated in large part to dealing with financial institutions,
nonprofit organizations, and retirement plans. Other areas of expertise
include governments, hospitals and hospital management companies, physicians
and dentists, real estate and securities broker/dealers. Additionally,
she devotes a considerable amount of her practice to handling tax and
financial planning concerns for individuals and small businesses.
She has
participated in many professional and industry organizations, including
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society
of CPA's, and the American Institute of Banking. She has been appointed
to serve on the AICPA's 2002-2003 Group of 100. She is an active member
of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and has served on the boards
of several civic and charitable organizations in Houston.
She holds
a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, and is
a graduate of The College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO.

Loyd
J. Stegent, CPA/PFS, CFP
Mr. Stegent is a founding director of Cornelius, Stegent & Price,
LLP, a Houston based firm of Certified Public Accountants with a broad
client base in government, non-profit and business, as well as high
net worth individuals. He is also founder and President of Stegent Equity
Advisors, Inc., a fee-only investment and financial counseling firm
in Houston, Texas that serves the clients of Cornelius, Stegent &
Price, LLP.
He is a
former Manager of Financial Counseling Services with Deloitte &
Touche, LLP and has over fifteen years experience serving the tax, financial
and investment planning needs of families, entrepreneurs and charitable
organizations. He is a Certified Public Accountant with the Personal
Financial Specialist designation and is licensed as a Certified Financial
Planner. He is registered with the State of Texas as a Registered Investment
Advisor.
His practice
focuses on individual wealth creation and preservation, including income
and estate tax minimization, investment and retirement planning, and
insurance needs analysis. He assists clients in the development of their
investment policy statement, providing the foundation for selection
of independent money managers best suited to their financial needs.
Mr. Stegent
is a contributing author of a new book, Tips from the Top: Targeted
Advice from America's Top Money Minds. He provides investment advice
to readers of the American Association of Individual Investors' Journal,
Mutual Funds Magazine, and Sage Online, an online investment forum offered
through America Online, as well as being a frequent speaker with the
American Association of Individual Investors as the Chairperson for
the Specialized Interest Group for Financial Planning.
He has
been an active member of many professional and industry organizations
including: The American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, the
AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division, the Texas Society of CPAs
(currently serving as the Chair Person for the Houston Chapter's Personal
Financial Planning Committee of the Texas Society of CPAs), and the
Financial Planning Association. He serves as trustee and investment
advisor to several religious organizations in Houston.
He obtained
his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1985.

Richard A. Price, CPA
Mr. Price
serves as president and managing director of Cornelius, Stegent &
Price, LLP, a Houston based firm of Certified Public Accountants with
a broad client base in government, non-profit and business. Previously
he was managing partner of the Houston office of Kenneth Leventhal &
Company, a national firm of Certified Public Accountants that performed
a majority of its services for the real estate industry. He also had
responsibility for the Houston office's tax practice.
His practice
currently focuses on entity planning and consulting including tax planning,
organizational restructuring, strategic and financial business planning,
and compensation planning. Previous experience includes substantial
expertise in debt restructuring and analysis, litigation support, audit
oversight, and quality control.
Over the
years he has been a frequent speaker before many industry groups and
organizations as well as in-house training programs. He most recently
presented and discussed a paper on structuring partnership agreements
in the 90's at the 44th annual Taxation Conference sponsored by the
University of Texas School of Law, being the only non-attorney invited
to speak.
He has
been an active member of many professional and industry organizations
including: The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The
Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Accountants and
Lawyers for the Arts (board of directors), Urban Land Institute (Houston
district council), National Association of Industrial and Office Parks
(treasurer and board of directors), Houston Realty Breakfast Club, and
the Greater Houston Builders Association (finance committee and Life
Spike).
He graduated
from Ohio State University in 1964 with a B.S. in accounting.
